Do you know there will always be things to complain about. Something or someone will do something that will cause you to be disappointed, frustrated, aggravated even angry if you allow it. Yes, if you allow it. When you really stop and think about it, there really aren't that many things worth the energy. Think about it, when was the last time you were mad? Why, who, or what cause it? Now, was it worth it? What did you get out of it?
Next time you find yourself aggravated, frustrated, irritated or upset.....ask yourself why? Was it worth the time? Was it worth the energy it took to be upset? What did you get or gain from it? I know I am asking a lot of questions, but think about it. Life is really too short to be upset and frustrated especially if you can't do anything about it.
Try something different. Instead of getting mad, learn from the situation and then be "grateful" for the encounter. I know you're laughing at me but I hope you will try it. Stop and think about the situation and then be grateful for the experience. Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean you have to be mad at them. Everyone thinks different, so be grateful for the opportunity to see someone one else view of things. Look at it from their point of view and see if you can understand their perspective. Sometimes the gratefulness comes from understanding that everyone isn't bless and you are grateful for the many blessings that you have experience.
There are times I realize that everyone hasn't been fortunate to travel around the world or within the United States of America like I have. Do you know that there are some people, particularly kids, who haven't been outside of their community? You know family can really make you think in an ungrateful way! Instead of being irritated by your parents or kids, be grateful that you have family that really love you inspite of your imperfections (you notice I didn't say inspite of their imperfections). Oh wait, do you work? How do you feel about your place of employment or even the people you work with (including supervisor)? Are you grateful, appreciative that is, that you have a job? The next time you want to complain about your coworkers, supervisors or the work itself, remember someone somewhere wish they had your job and would be grateful just to be working! I am not even talking about the unemployed but think about the handicap or disabled.
Being grateful is more than just being appreciative, it's expressing that feeling of kindness. It's showing up intentionally with a smile. When you are grateful, you are also considerate. You don't have to win the argument or always be right. Grateful people are thankful people. Thankful for life and the people that are part of it. Thankful for a place to live, food to eat and so much more.
Do you know that an attitude of gratitude helps reduce stress and can improve your mood. Gratefulness can be motivating and improve self-esteem. Each day find something to be grateful for. Try to think of something different every day. You may even want to keep a journal and log what you are grateful.. Challenge yourself to write for the next 30 days what you are grateful for. Let me know how many things you came up with. You may surprise yourself with an attitude of gratitude.

Be Grateful!!!!!
